Each year your Junior Leadership Program identifies a community need, then develops a plan to address the issue resulting in a civic impact project. This year, in spite of Covid-19, the class has identified a need at Tapestry Senior Living. The memory unit has outdoor space that needs landscaping and space to inspire memories!

The class is planning to build some colorful benches, add a butterfly garden, a memory tree and raised beds for sensory plants. The students conduct the research for the materials needed, fund raise, promote the project and do all of the labor themselves. They are guided by four project coaches, but this is a youth-led civic impact service project. Students gain experience in project planning, business outreach and communication, team building, critical thinking and more!

They are seeking your support for the cost of materials for benches, paint, plant materials, and other outdoor decorations to create an inviting space to improve the quality of life for seniors living in the memory care wing of Tapestry Senior Living. They will be designing and constructing benches and raised beds in February and March; they goal is to have larger plants installed by late April and flowers at the end of May.

Thank you for your consideration for this project!
